Ok effective immediately members that do not return/post within 1 month of their sign up will be removed from the member list. This will keep our member list a little more accurate since there are many members who sign up and then never return. Members who don't post but log in on a regular basis will not be effected. Any member that has posted more than once has will also not be effected. Members will be sent an email about one week before their account is removed, telling them that their acount will be removed due to their inactivity.

I am currently sending an email to all inactive members since day one, informing them that there accounts are to be removed if they remain inactive.

Just curious but what happens after you remove their account?  Will they be able to re-register again with the same name?

yes if some one else hasn't beaten them to the punch they will be more then welcome to return with the same name.

again though this is gear towards those people who sign up and then never return. Any member that's posted more than once has nothing to fear, i won't deleted once really active accounts, who knows people like Medaking and CoolGuy may yet return.

That is a good plan. I may have to try and convince Jesus to do the same thing with his board.

in accordance with this new policy i have removed all non active accounts since the start of the forum, leaving behind only those that have logged on since i sent out the email last week, this cut our membership number a bit but at least its a real number now.

you chose the right choice there m8. but out of curiosity they jus post like 5 times just for the sake of them not gettin chucked out?? (of course it will depend on their join up date. such as this if they have joined this month or last there in a safe zone or summit)

That's a great idea :D  I got pissed the very first time MSN deleted my e-mail account b/c of my inactivity, but if the ppl that don't return care enough, they'll prevent the inactivation from happening.  Great idea :D
